Avoid if you are a sushi lover. I ordered sushi and they were not well prepared, they fell apart completely. The service was too slow, and the girl in charge of floor was rude. On top of this their menu clearly state for all meals "including coffee or tea and dessert" and they refused to bring the dessert. Very bad and expensive for the service.

I've been there twice in the past month and the sushi was phenomenal every time. My family and I have tried countless sushi restaurants but Zento tops them all (Maiko is close to it but it's too different to compare the both of them)! The first time, we ordered as takeout and chose a combo for 3. The quantity was excellent and the food was delicious. The second time, I went with a friend and ate at the restaurant. The service was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect. Their sushi was unbelievably creamy and flavorful.

I highly recommend going during a weekday if you want to eat at the restaurant as it is very packed during Fridays and the weekend.

Fantastic restaurant! We'll definitely be returning !

I actually worked at Zento sushi for 2 years as a waiter, so this is going to be the review you want to read.

First off the sushi is amazing. Stick to the chef creations, they are some of the most unique and creative rolls I have seen. I recommend Phoenix, exotica, Alaska, tornado if you like eel, moonlight and Komodo dragon. I read reviews where people say it is bland or boring. These people most likely ordered the wrong rolls, the menu is huge so you have to read up and ask your waiter what is good.

The service is usually good but I agree it can sometimes be slow. This happens cause people do not make reservations. You have to understand it is very hard for the owner to schedule the right amount of staff when we have 30 reservations on the book and 100-125 people show up. I remember nights where we had 25 on the books and I ended up serving close to 75 people myself. Lesson is make a reservation. Walk ins are secondary to the staff, reservations are top priority. Also zento has 3 kitchens, sushi, wok and grill. It is very hard for a waiter to coordinate a dinner when it's a group of 6 and 3 people order sushi creations and the others order grill and wok. Another problem is groups of 4 or more splitting bills and asking you to remember what sushi each one of them ate, then all of them paying by card. Bring cash if you want to split and know what you ordered.

Also, tip 15% don't be cheap. If your waiter is ignoring you or doing a bad job then make a deduction. But don't punish waiters for slow kitchen service. And to a comment below 10-12% on any bill is not acceptable. Especially if you are paying card as the government taxes half of the tip.

You have to be patient... Slowest service I've ever seen. 40 mins for empty plates to be cleared out. Food was good.
